Master Tung’s Huo Ying and Huo Zhu (Fire Hard and Fire Master – Two Fires)

This acupuncture point combination is used very frequently for dealing with stress, tension, fatigue, gynaecological issues, and pain.

These points are located on the Liver channel, which is part of the larger Jue Yin (meaning terminal Yin, or the deepest channel in the body). Embryology sees this channel create the liver, pericardium, uterine lining, coronary vessels, portal venous system and pleura. The anatomy of this channel suggests a strong influence on blood flow. 

The names of these points also hold a clue for what they can be used for. Fire relates to the Heart and here we have the master of fire and making fire harder. In other words, controlling and strengthening the Heart. A classic function of these points is for emergency use in heart attacks.
